Fuerteventura Golf Club, the first club on the island, has been built in Antigua, eleven kilometres from the capital.The golf course situated in Caleta de Fuste is just 8 kilometers from the airport and was opened in 2002. In 2004 it hosted the Spanish Open raising the profile of Fuerteventura on television to an estimated 600 million homes around the world.
The course is designed by Juan Catarimeau is around some stunning villas and apartments with the five star clubhouse of the Elba Palace Golf Resort Hotel taking an elevated position at the back of the course and offering fabulous views down to the beach resort of Caleta de Fuste.
